Moving to a new school
Most of our pupils start at The Glebe Primary shortly after their third birthday when they become eligible to join our nursery. Prior to this, they may have attended a pre-school setting such as a child-minder, or been at home.
Sometimes it is necessary for a pupil to join, or leave our school during the primary phase because they have moved from or are moving to another school. Please see our Admissions Policy for further details.
At the end of Year 6, pupils usually transfer to one of our local secondary schools.
Whenever a pupil moves into, or from our school, we do our best to ensure that transition is a smooth as it can be. Parents and carers are encouraged to visit our school, meet with key staff and discuss admission arrangements. Children are also encouraged to participate in a visit to familiarise themselves with the new setting and provide an opportunity for them to ask questions.
