Clubs

FILMCLUB’s aim is to make a wide range of films available to young people, which challenge, unite, educate, amaze and inspire. Your child will have the opportunity to explore the wonderful world of film and use the FILMCLUB website www.filmclub.org to search for the films they want to watch, submit reviews and enter exciting competitions.

The club takes place on the second last Friday of every term; there will only be one per term and it will take place  immediately after school.

The children will watch the film in the large hall and refreshments (i.e. hotdogs, popcorn and juice) will be available.

A group of approximately 30 Key Stage 2 children make up our school choir. Choir takes place on a Tuesday lunchtime led by Mrs Appleby and also on a Wednesday break time led by Ms Sheraton and Mr Gibson (specialist singing teachers).  Choir gives the children the opportunity to develop their love of singing whilst learning some new songs and developing their singing skills. The children will also be working on songs which they will perform on occasions such as Harvest Festival, Winter Fair and Snappy Christmas.

Homework club takes place on a Thursday lunchtime. The club is ran by Mrs. Lewis and it is open to all children Key Stage 2.

“This is a great opportunity to use the computers to complete homework tasks and enjoy working together on projects.”

Chess club  takes place during Monday lunchtime. The club is ran by Mrs Repton and it is open to Year 5 and Year 6 children.

“A great, peaceful place to have fun playing chess. For half a term we play friendly matches against each other. After half term we play tournament games.”
