Pat Lofthouse

I have recently retired as a School Business Manager after working in Primary Schools for 32 years, a role which I enjoyed enormously.  After my retirement I felt that I would still love to be involved in children’s education so I applied to be a School Governor and was pleased to have my application accepted and  I joined the Governing Body at The Glebe Primary in March 2021.

We have lived in Norton for 22 years, I am a mother to three grown-up sons and have six grandchildren, five of which are Primary school age and one just entered year 7.  I feel that the experience  gained working in schools and being a grandparent will help me with my role as a governor.

I recently attended a school event and witnessed the dedication and support of the Head Teacher to pupils and staff.  Listening and learning from the Governor Meetings I have already  attended,  I feel  able to contribute to decisions relating to staff and resources, to ensure they  receive  the support they need to provide the best education for children so they can reach their full potential.

Finally, I would like to say that I consider it a privilege to have joined the Governing Body at The Glebe, I have only been involved for a short time but I am finding my role very rewarding.
