This week, the Glebe Primary School was transformed into a West End theatre as we were absolutely dazzled by the talent displayed by our Year 5 and 6 children in their summer performance.
Essentially a forbidden love story, Sleeping Beauty, The Ugly Truth is set in ‘Bella Vista’, a kingdom obsessed with looks, trendy fashions and celebrity gossip. The town falls foul of a witch’s curse and it’s down to a humble gardener, armed only with green fingers and good intentions, to save the day!
With fantastic songs and a hilarious script, this delightful twist on a popular fairy tale hammered home the message that top-notch clothes and hairstyles are no substitute for an honest heart full of love!
The narration, acting, singing and dancing skills on show were nothing short of AMAZING. We defi-nitely witnessed the birth of some future stars!! In addition to this, the whole play was support-ed by the wonderfully powerful singing abilities of our Year 5 children who really did provide fan-tastic depth and volume to the musical numbers. There were few dry eyes in the house as the show ended with the final song absolutely raising the roof!
